RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday that 80 per cent of Miranshah has been cleared of terrorists after the military operation Zarb-e-Azb was launched last month in the North Waziristan tribal region.
In a briefing to local and foreign media on Wednesday, the Director General ISPR and Commander Zarb-e-Azb said that there was also presence of Al-Qaeda militants in the region.
The DG ISPR said that so far over 400 terrorists have been killed, 130 injured while 100 hideouts of terrorists have been destroyed during the military operation in North Waziristan.
No civilian has so far been killed in the operation, the DG ISPR added.
The media persons were told that central command and control of terrorists has also been destroyed.
The commander Zarb-e-Azb said that North Waziristan was centre of planning, logistic and communication for the terrorists.
In reply to a question, the DG ISPR said that all terrorists will be eliminated without any discrimination.
The ISPR demanded of the Afghan government to prevent entry of fleeing terrorists in Afghanistan.
