LAHORE, Pakistan: The Zimbabwe cricket team on Thursday cancelled its scheduled Pakistan tour due to security reasons, causing a huge disappointment for Pakistani cricket fans.
However, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman said that the board has not been informed properly.
Zimbabwe was the first Test-playing nation to tour Pakistan since the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore.
The Zimbabwe team was scheduled to arrive in Lahore on May 19 to play two Twenty20 internationals and three one-day internationals (ODIs) between May 22 and 31 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The tour cancellation followed a deadly terror attack in Karachi where at least 45 members of the Ismaili community were killed when unknown gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on their bus in Safoora Goth area on Wednesday.
