ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: General Zubair Mahmood Hayat on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad, a day after he became the 17th Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
During the meeting, they discussed matters related to professional issues of armed forces.
The prime minister congratulated the CJCSC on assuming the new assignment.
The CJCSC also held a separate meeting with President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad.
The president felicitated General Zubair Mahmood Hayat on assuming the charge of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. He said that the operation Zarb-e-Azb has helped curb incidents of terrorism.
In his remarks, General Zubair Hayat said the country’s armed forces are fully capable to defend every inch of the motherland.
General Zubair Mahmood Hayat took charge of CJCSC from General Rashad Mehmood at a Change of Command Ceremony held at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi on Monday.
