MULTAN, Pakistan: Nearly 40 Children were injured when the roof of a school collapsed in Multan on Saturday, prompting the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the incident.
The incident occurred in Basti Ali Wala area of Multan where the roof of a private school collapsed. Resultantly, at least 39 children sustained injuries.
The injured students were shifted to Nishtar Hospital where some of the students were provided first-aid and later got discharged.
Meanwhile, the school principal was taken into custody by police for allegedly constructing shops next to the school building which eventually caused the roof collapse.
Following the incident, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and sought a report from the Secretary Education Schools in this regard. He also directed for providing best possible medical facilities to the injured.
