RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Five terrorists were killed and the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Qamar Alam embraced Shahadat (Martyrdom) in an operation carried out by the security forces against a terrorist hideout in Peshawar, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Pakistan army and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police conducted the joint Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Hayatabad Phase VII are of Peshawar last night.
The ISPR said that during exchange of fire, five terrorists were killed while the ASI Qamar Alam embraced Shahadat. Furthermore, an officer and a soldier also got injured.
The ISPR said that forces are in the process of clearing the compound and search in adjacent areas is in progress.
“Dead bodies of killed terrorists recovered. Identification of killed terrorists in process,” Pakistan army’s media wing further said.
Meanwhile, the funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janaza) of Shaheed ASI Qamar Alam was held at Peshawar.
His funeral prayer was attended by the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt. General Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood and the IGP Dr. Muhammad Nadeem Khan.

The analysts say that though the government has overwhelmingly claimed to have purged the Country of militancy and kicked off a massive drive to promote tourism in the Country. However, such narrative by the government is being badly blown away by terror-related incidents, indicating that the Country is yet to wait for conducive environment to expect for a tourists’ influx.
