ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As many as 125,000 students would be enrolled in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) during the Education Emergency Campaign that would be launched from April 1st, 2016.
As many as 80,000 children would be enrolled during the month of April 2016 while other 45,000 children would be enrolled in September this year, according to official source.
Services of local tribal leaders, school teachers, Ulema as well as students would be utilized to achieve the target for enrollment.
It is pertinent to mention here that a comprehensive countrywide enrollment drive would be launched from April 1-30 this year to ensure 100 percent enrollment in the schools by 2018.
The Planning Commission of Pakistan have had detailed meeting with the stakeholders of all the provinces during which it was decided that the campaign scheduled to be launched on April 1, would ensure 20 percent enhancement in enrollment all across the country during the current year.
The Planning Commission would approach the Chief Ministers to convene meetings and devise comprehensive drive to launch the national drive.
The District Coordinator Officers and District Education Officers have also been advised to prepare a comprehensive plan for launching the drive by March 22 and forward the same to the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform to make plans for National Enrollment Drive.
Project Management Units would be established at Federal and provincial levels to monitor the exercise.
