ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and Capital Engineering Corporation (CEC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the promotion of solar-cum gas fired fruit dryer here.
Secretary PARC Muhammad Tariq and Head of CEC Moazzam Ali Toor signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Whereas Dr. Nadeem Amjad, Chairman PARC and other senior officers of both the organizations witnessed the ceremony, said a statement.
According to MoU, the scientists of Agricultural Engineering Division (AED) of PARC will design and develop a solar dryer. They will provide prototype and technical assistance to Capital Engineering Corporation for manufacturing of the solar dryer, it added.
After manufacturing this dryer, the PARC scientists would test it in the field and on successful performance, it would be recommended for commercialization in the country.
This solar dryer would be used for drying of fruits, vegetables and fish in order to enhance the shelf-life of these products.
