ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government has allocated Rs 377,543.165 million for various ongoing power schemes and new projects under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for next fiscal year 2017-18.

According to budgetary documents, a sum of Rs 127,917.083 has been allocated for various ongoing hydel power projects of WAPDA, Rs.239,158.481 million for projects of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) and Rs9,200 million for new schemes of PEPCO.

Under the ongoing schemes of PEPCO, Rs 16,234 million has been earmarked for installation of 660 MW Coal Fired Power Project Jamshoro, Rs39256 million for 1200 MW RLNG Based Power Project Plant Balloki, Rs37,184 million for 1200 MW LNG Based Power Project Plant Haveli Bahadurshah, Rs3,600 million for 3rd 500 KV Jamshoro-Moro, Rs2,900 million for 500 KV Faisalabad New, Rs2,850 for construction of 500 KV T/L Disposal, Rs2,150 million for evacuation of Power from Wind Power Projects (Jhimpir and Gharo Wind).

Similarly, a sum of Rs10,000 million has been allocated for Inter-Connection Thar Coal Based 1200 MW, Rs5,200 million transmission for Dispersal power from Neelum Jhelum, Rs3,050 million for 500KV Islamabad West, Rs8,000 million for evacuation of power from 1320 MW Power Plant at Bin Qasim, Rs3,898 million for distribution and system augmentation programme-I, Rs1,033 for distribution and system augmentation programme-II, Rs9,000 million for evacuation of power from 1320 MW Hub Power Company, Rs5,800 million for 7th secondary transmission and grids (HESCO), Rs2,655 million for 7th secondary transmission and grids (PESCO), Rs,4000 million for 7th secondary transmission and grids (FESCO), Rs3000 million each for 7th secondary transmission and grids (LESCO and MEPCO.)

An amount of Rs3,898 million has been earmarked for distribution and system augmentation programme-I (PESCO), Rs1033 million for distribution and system augmentation programme-II (LESCO), Rs1537 million for distribution and system augmentation Programme-II (FESCO), Rs2300 million and Rs1860 million for Advanced Metering Infrastructure Project (LESCO) and IESCO respectively.
