ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan on Monday registered a strong protest with India after Indian troops martyred two Civilians and injured three others along the Line of Control (LoC).

Earlier in the day, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that two teenagers including 18-year-old Waqar Younas and 19-year-old Asad Ali were martyred after Indian troops initiated unprovoked heavy weapons including mortar firing targeting Civil population along the LoC in Jandrot and Hot Spring Sectors.

The ISPR said that both Waqar Younas and Asad Ali were residents of Bhabra village. It further said that the Indian firing also caused injuries to three other Civilians including 30-year-old Muhammad Shabir, 35-year-old Shumaila khurshid and 14-year-old Hafsa Shabbir.

Muhammad Shahbaz was a resident of Bhabra village whereas Shumaila khurshid and Hafsa Shabbir belonged to Chakrali village.

The ISPR said that Pakistan army effectively responded on Indian posts firing on civilians which also damaged Indian posts and caused casualties.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Office said that the Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr. Muhammad Faisal summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh at the Foreign Office in Islamabad today and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces in Chirikot and Hot Spring Sectors June 10 and 12, 2017 respectively.

The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was told that the deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed condemnable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws.

The Director General urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement; investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC.
