RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan on Wednesday reiterated its strong desire to strengthen its partnership with Turkey in all fields including the defence cooperation.

In a meeting with the Turkish delegation led by the Turkish Ambassador in Pakistan Babur Girgin at Ministry of Defence in Rawalpindi, the Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir Khan said Pakistan wanted to further cement its ties with Turkish which would be fruitful for people of both the Countries.

The defence minister appreciated democratic and development initiatives of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a visionary leader.

Dastgir extended thanks to Turkey for construction of Fleet Tanker for Pakistan Navy.

The minister also appreciated the recent deal for Super Mashak Trainer Aircraft by Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for Turkish Air Force.

Khurram Dastgir also acknowledged the recent visit of the Commander Turkish Armed Forces, General Hulusi Akar to further foster the relations between both brotherly Countries.

The minister conveyed the concern of Pakistan on deteriorating situation in Middle East, particularly in Syria, Iraq and Yemen-Saudi Arabia.

Dastgir commended Turkish role for crushing uprising on its borders and its positive role in Syrian crisis.
