KARACHI, Pakistan: Finally the former President and Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari on Monday unveiled the reasons behind his reluctance to patch up with Nawaz Sharif, saying the latter took advantage of his sincerity.
Talking to the PPP senior leaders and journalists in Karachi, Asif Ali Zardari said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif had broken his trust and sent the former military dictator General (retd) Pervaiz Musharraf abroad.
The PPP Co-Chairman said his infamous statement ‘Eent Sy Eent Bajana’ had also the endorsement of Nawaz Sharif but later the former prime minister stepped back and left him alone.
Zardari said Nawaz Sharif took advantage of his statement and tried to settle matters with the former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (retd) Raheel Sharif.
Asif Ali Zardari further said he did politics but Nawaz Sharif always aimed at flourishing his business. He said Nawaz Sharif sold them every time, he got a chance.
The former president said each time Nawaz Sharif stepped back after putting him in a state of confrontation with the establishment. He said now Nawaz Sharif had to face the consequences.
