ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had been exceeding its limitations and authority in various issues.

While talking to media at the Accountability Court where he along with Maryam Nawaz reached for hearing of Al-Azizia Steel Mills Reference, Nawaz Sharif said the law which was created by the military dictator Pervez Musharraf should have been abolished as the latter created that law to fulfill his heinous objectives.

“The dictator’s law must be abolished as soon as possible,” he said adding now it was the time to decide whether the laws created by democratic governments would be implemented or those created by the dictators.

The former prime minister said they were busy in developmental and public welfare projects that’s why couldn’t pay attention to that issue.

On Wednesday while speaking in the National Assembly, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi demanded the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate the allegations of laundering $4.9 billion to India levelled by NAB against Nawaz Sharif, saying those were very serious allegations which had brought bad name to the Country.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the parliamentary committee should have summoned the Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal and other officials of the bureau, and sought evidence and relevant record from them in support of their allegations.

Talking to media today, Nawaz Sharif also said the prime minister’s conversation in the Parliament about the Chairman NAB was welcoming.
