KIEV, Ukraine: The Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Pakistan’s Ambassador in Kiev Zahid Mubashir Sheikh have discussed the possible ways to expand the economic component of Pakistan-Ukraine relations.

The meeting occurred when Pakistan’s newly appointed ambassador to Kiev Zahid Mubashir Sheikh submitted his credentials to the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, according to the Ukrainian news agency ‘Ukrinform’.

During the meeting, the two sides noted the importance of launching the activities of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Pakistani Commission on Economic Cooperation.

The Ukrainian president drew attention to the prospects of the development of political dialogue and cooperation in the framework of international organizations.

Separately, the Ukrainian president also received credentials from the newly appointed ambassadors of Turkey and Japan to Kiev.

Talking to the Turkish Ambassador Yağmur Ahmet Güldere and the Japanese Ambasador Takashi Kurai, President Petro Poroshenko exchanged views on bilateral relations of their respective Countries.

The Ukrainian president also voiced the commitment to further strengthen their ties with Turkey and Japan.

President Petro Poroshenko also expressed gratitude to Turkey for the non-recognition of Crimea, as well as for the defense of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people.
