ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Taking a highly commendable initiative, the Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan helped the transportation of the dead body of a poor Pakistani worker from Iran to his hometown.
Talking to media, the Spokesperson Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan said that the bereaved family did not have enough money to bring the dead body to Pakistan. However, he added that, after intervention of Federal Ombudsman, the dead body of the deceased was successfully transported from Iran to Pakistan.
The further information about the deceased and cause of his death in Iran is yet to be ascertained.
It is worth mentioning that more than 8.5 million Pakistanis are working in difference countries around the world for their livelihood.
Since Pakistan shares an over 900 kilometer-long border with Iran, a number of Pakistanis, with exception to those who opt legal channels, also try to enter the neighboring country illegally.
Therefore, each year thousands of illegal Pakistani immigrants are either deported from Iran or killed by the Iranian security forces foiling their attempts to cross the border.
In addition to that, a number of Pakistani expatriates lost their lives abroad after succumbing to various deceases or unnatural deaths. Even some of them are laid to rest in their respective places of work for insufficient finance resources to be transported to their country of residence.
However, the Federal Ombudsman, an independent and impartial institution with the aim to provide expeditious & inexpensive relief to citizens by redressing their grievances, came upfront this time and helped the heirs of a poor Pakistani worker in Iran to bring his dead body to his home.
