Tehran, Iran: President Hassan Rouhani has said that Tehran will help Islamabad for its efforts to restore peace and stability to the region.
According to IRNA News Agency, while welcoming Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan who reached Tehran as facilitator to engage Saudi Arabia and Iran for a peaceful solution, President Rouhani maintained that Iran warmly welcomed his (PM Khan) good faith and efforts to restore peace and stability to the region and that Tehran will help him with that cause.
Referring to statement of Pakistani Prime Minister Khan that US President Trump asked him for useful negotiation between Washington DC and Tehran, President Rouhani stated that if the US wants to return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), it (US) needs to remove all the sanctions for further discussion.
While addressing joint press talk, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan maintained that Pakistan wants (wanted) peace between Iran and Saudi Arabia as both countries have (had) close relations with Pakistan and any war between them would bring devastating consequences for the region.
PM Khan stated that his efforts to bring peace between these two countries is a Pakistani initiative. He also recalled critical help by Iran during 1965 war and its supporting statements for Kashmiris.
President Hassan Rouhani appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan’s views with regard to security of Persian Gulf and appreciate his visit to Iran which helped us to discuss developments in the region.
Prime Minister of Pakistan would visit Riyadh on Tuesday as a part of his initiative for facilitation between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
PM Imran Khan also called on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and thanked the Supreme Leader for support to the people of Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir for their right of self-determination.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Muslim Ummah faces numerous challenges internally and from the outside.

Meanwhile, Iranian media highlighted that despite that there are some political challenges to the government in Pakistan, Prime Minister Khan is committed to play a proactive role for regional peace and that is why he has reached Tehran on his second official visit to the Islamic Republic. Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit to New York earlier had stated that both the United States and Saudi Arabia asked him to mediate with Iran to defuse tensions.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif during an exclusive interview with Turkish international news channel- TRT World- had said that Iran has always been open to discuss anything with the Saudi Government.
