The Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) organized a Balloting Ceremony at the Metal Crafts Artisan Village for payment of outstanding dues to metal craftsmen and allotment of 13 closed workshops. 

The Advisor Gandhara Resource Center Nadeem Omar Tarar graced the occasion as the special guest.

The President Friends Loin Club Mian Zahid Maqbool Kabli also attended the function.

In their remarks at the Ceremony, the distinguished guests and the Regional Director Lahore Khurram Aftab Dar highlighted the importance of Metal Craft Village for local artisans and the efforts being made to revive the defunct handicrafts.

They said that the village would provide a great opportunity for the people of the area to enhance their skills and employment.

The Director PSIC Yawar Mehdi conveyed the message of the Managing Director Punjab Small Industries Corporation Jameel Ahmed Jameel who said that the PSIC is planning to revive the Cottage Industry from the devastation of Coronavirus since every district of Punjab needs some art and craft.

In his message, Jameel Ahmed Jameel said that the purpose of the Artisan Village is not to collect taxes for the government but to keep the dying art alive, now it is up to the artisans to take full advantage of these projects.

On this occasion, the President of Friends Loin Club Mian Zahid Maqbool Kabli announced that in addition to launching a health awareness program and checking blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, hepatitis & eye, a free medical camp will be organized in January 2021 to diagnose cancer in women.

Zahid Maqbool Kabli said that the medical camp will benefit all artisans of Metal Crafts Artisan Village, staff and family members, as well as the locals.

At the end of the ceremony, the Director PSIC Yawar Mehdi offered prayers and thanked the Friends Line Club president Mian Zahid Maqbool Kabli for setting up the free medical camp.

The local artisans appreciated Punjab Small Industries Corporation’s efforts to promote the province’s handicrafts along with the provision of health checkup facilities.
