BISHKEK: Kyrgyz Parliament has passed a bill, under which the US will cease leasing the transit air base at Manas airport near the country’s capital.
American troops are to withdraw from the site by July 11, 2014.
The US has been renting the base near Bishkek for more than a decade. It is part of the logistic support for the US-led coalition in Afghanistan, refueling airlift transports carrying cargoes and troops.
