PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Monday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government will adopt a constitutional course over the issue of NATO supplies going through the country into Afghanistan.

A special meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet was held in Peshawar on Monday with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in the chair to discuss the situation in the wake of killing of Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud in a US missile strike.

The meeting authorized Pervez Khattak to consult the opposition parties in the provincial assembly and decide on the closure of NATO supplies.

It was decided in the meeting that a resolution would be tabled in the provincial assembly in consultation with opposition parties.

In the resolution, the federal government would be given a deadline to block NATO supplies, the meeting decided.
