ISLAMABAD: Najam Sethi has been reinstated as the interim chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the PCB lawyer Tafazul Rizvi confirmed on Monday.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) while hearing the intra-court appeal in its order stated that the situation would remain the same as October 29, thereby reinstating Najam Sethi.
A judge at the IHC, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, had suspended Sethi on October 29 for not obeying a legal order to elect a permanent chairman for the Pakistan’s cricket’s governing body by October 18. The judge had also suspended the interim management committee formed to look into the PCB affairs.
But later in the day, an appeals bench at the same court granted a stay order on the ruling until November 4, following an application from the PCB legal team.
