WASHINGTON: The United States has said that it has an ongoing dialogue with Pakistan on all aspects of the bilateral relationship.
In a new briefing in Washington, the US State Department’s deputy spokesperson Marie Harf said the two sides hold discussion over an issue as and when it arises.
The spokesperson said that we have a strong and long term commitments to Pakistan and his people.
Harf recalled President Barack Obama’s assurances during Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s recent visit to Washington that despite some inevitable tensions and occasional misunderstandings‚ the fundamental goodwill between the two countries will certainly continue.
About killing of Taliban Commander Hakimullah Mehsud in a drone attack‚ the spokesperson said that Tehrik-i-Taliban has been a direct threat to the US national security.
To a question‚ the spokesperson said NATO supply lines through Pakistan are open and there is no disruption in transportation.
