Pakistan-India trade talks resume today

NEW DELHI: The secretary-level trade talks between Pakistan and India are being held in New Delhi on Wednesday, which are likely to agree on fresh timelines for implementing a roadmap to remove bottlenecks in trade liberalization.

The Secretary Commerce Qasim Niaz will represent Pakistan, while India will be led by his counterpart S.R. Rao. The two sides are also likely to discuss issues confronting the Pakistani business community including visas issues.

Meanwhile‚ the SAARC trade conference will also be held on Thursday in New Delhi. Minister of State for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan will represent Pakistan in the conference.

Dastgir is also expected to meet his Indian counterpart Anand Sharma on the sideline of the conference.
