German parliamentary delegation arrives in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A German parliamentary delegation is arriving in Pakistan on a three-day official visit on Tuesday on the invitation of Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

The delegation will be headed by President of German Parliament Dr. Norbert Lammert.

During its stay in Islamabad, the delegation will call on President Mamnoon Hussain, Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari, and Speaker National Assembly besides interacting with Pakistani parliamentarians.

During these meetings, matters pertaining to enhancing cooperation between the legislatures of Pakistan and Germany as well as possibilities of boosting bilateral economic cooperation will be discussed.

The President of German parliament will also address members of Pak-German Friendship Group.

In the last leg of his sojourn, he will visit Lahore and will meet governor and chief minister of the Punjab. He will also visit the Sacred Heart Cathedral and meet leaders from the churches in Pakistan. He will also pay a visit to historic Badshahi Masjid and other famous monuments in Lahore.
