Afghan National Security Advisor Dr Rangin Dadfar Spanta

ISLAMABAD: The Afghan National Security Advisor Dr Rangin Dadfar Spanta arrived in Islamabad on Thursday to hold talks with Pakistani leadership.

A high level delegation comprising of senior officials of Afghan Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence, National Directorate of Security (NDS) and National Security Council is accompanying Dr Spanta.

The Afghan national security advisor will call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Dr Spanta will also hold delegation-level talks with the prime minister’s advisor on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz, which will be attended by senior security officials from both sides.

The discussions will focus on ensuring deeper bilateral security cooperation. In this regard, the two sides will discuss ways of strengthening regular contact between the security authorities of the two countries.
