PakistanJamshed Dasti announces to quit PPP; will contest elections alone

MUZAFFARGARH: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) MNA from Muzaffargarh, Jamshed Dasti, on Friday announced to leave his party, adding that he would contest the upcoming elections as an independent candidate, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Dasti said that he would contest upcoming polls as independent candidate from NA 177 and 178.

The MNA claimed that former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar inaugurated a project today which has no existence.

Dasti further said that Hina Rabbani Khar and her father opposed him in by-polls that took place in 2010, adding that he had told the party leadership that he would contest elections against Khar.

The PPP MNA had been elected from the Muzaffargarh NA-178 constituency in the 2008 elections and later through by-elections.
