Pakistan seeks to further strengthen its partnership with Greece

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has expressed its desire to further strengthen its partnership with Greece in diverse areas to the mutual benefit of the people of both countries.

The desire was expressed by President Mamnoon Hussain in a meeting with the ambassador of Greece in Pakistan Petros Mavroidis who paid a farewell call on him in Islamabad on Monday.

“Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with Greece which were based on mutual trust and goodwill,” the president said during his meeting with the ambassador of Greece.

The president appreciated the long-term partnership of Pakistan with Greece in economic, trade and commercial relations.

President Mamnoon noted that the both countries have extended support to each other at various international forums and expressed commitment for furthering mutual cooperation in diverse fields.

Mamnoon Hussain emphasized that both countries should continue exploring mutual avenues for future cooperation for further enhancing the existing volume of bilateral trade noting that the existing bilateral trade $90 million was far below the potential.

In addition, he said that the Greek investors could take advantage of investor friendly policies of Pakistan by investing in various sectors of economy especially in the agriculture and energy sectors.

The president commended the ambassadorial services of Petros Mavroidis for promoting bilateral relations during his stay since October 2007 as ambassador in Pakistan.
