ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces to speed up the process of implementing of the anti-terror national action plan (NAP).

In a high-level meeting held in Islamabad on Tuesday to review the implementation of the national action plan and petrol supply situation, Sharif said that the government is committed to eradicate terrorism and extremism from the country.

The prime minister said that all political parties unanimously agreed on the 20-point national action plan against terrorism and it is the responsibility of all the federating units to implement it in letter and spirit.

During the meeting, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif gave a briefing about progress of implementation of the NAP in the province.

Nawaz Sharif said that other provinces should also expedite implementation of the plan.

The prime minister also expressed satisfaction over availability of petrol in the country.

However, he gave directions for closer coordination among different ministries and departments should ensure seamless coordination to avoid such occurrences in future.

The meeting was attended among others by the Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and the Punjab Chief Minister.
