New ECL policy to be evolved: Nisar

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has said that a new exit control list (ECL) policy will be evolved.

In his address at a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, the minister said that no one can be included in the ECL on directions or demands of any one.

No confirmation on Mullah Fazlullah’s death

Taking about the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Chief Mullah Fazlullah, the interior minister said that it is not confirmed either he is dead or alive.

“There is no confirmation on the killing of Mullah Fazlullah,” Chaudhry Nisar said.

Earlier media quoted military sources late Saturday night saying that the TTP chief was killed during the army’s operation in the Khyber agency.

However, there was no independent or official confirmation on the report while the TTP also denied it.

Documents about Altaf Hussain yet to be provided to UK

The interior minister said that the government has not handed over any document related to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain to the British government.

“The government has apprised Britain only about the FIR against Altaf Hussain and his speeches,” the minister said while rejecting the MQM allegations about handing over documents to the United Kingdom.

In reply to a question about the Karachi operation, Nisar Ali Khan said that the operation was launched with consensus of all political parties including the MQM

The minister said that the MQM had demanded to hand over Karachi to the Pakistan Army.
