ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Pakistan has been delayed for two days due to death of his mother, according to the Foreign Office Spokesman Qazi Khalil Ullah.
In a statement issued in Islamabad on Tuesday, the foreign office spokesman said that the Belarus president will now pay a two-day state visit to Pakistan from Thursday.
The Belarus president accompanied by a high-powered delegation was scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Tuesday (May 26) at the invitation of his Pakistani Counterpart Mamnoon Hussain.
However, now his visit will be undertaken on May 28 after the delay.
During his visit, the Belarusian president will have official talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who will also host a lunch in honour of the visiting dignitary.
President Mamnoon Hussain will also host a banquet in honour of the distinguished guest.
The two countries are expected to sign a number of important agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with focus on agriculture machinery, tractor plant, milk and dairy industry during the visit.
