The firing incident took place at a time when the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was holding talks with the MQM leaders at the MQM headquarters Nine Zero, aiming to convince them to withdraw their resignations from the Parliament.
Last week, the MQM lawmakers tendered their resignations from the National Assembly, Senate and the Sindh Assembly as to express their reservations over the Rangers-led operation in Karachi.
