Lahore, Pakistan: Nawaz condoled with family of Shuja Khanzada. The Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif visited the residence of former Punjab Home Minister late Col (retired) Shuja Khanzada here on Sunday.

The Prime Minister expressed his condolences with the bereaved family and offered Fateha for the departed soul. He paid tribute to the bravery and valiance of Shuja Khanzada Shaheed. He reiterated the resolve to continue with full zeal the mission of eliminating terrorism for which the nation had rendered numerous sacrifices. Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique accompanied the Prime Minister.

It may be mentioned that The Punjab Home Minister Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada was killed along with 21 other persons in a suicide blast that hit the minister’s public office in  Attock on August 16, 2015. The police sources said that a suicide attacker detonated his explosives when while a jirga was underway at the Punjab home minister’s public office at his native village Shadi Khan in Attock district.

He was man behind of arrest of hundreds of top Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP) terrorists in Punjab and he was focal person in contact with top intelligence agencies of the country and always took action on tips off without delay. His life was under threat and he had prior knowledge about possible attack on his life after killing of chief of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) Malik Ishaq who was killed in a police encouter. LeJ and TTP operate hands in hands and LeJ is also on the list of Terrorists Organisation released by Department of State of United States.
