ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The sons of deceased Lal Masjid cleric Ghazi Abdul Rasheed have been arrested for possessing explosive material and uniform of security agencies in Islamabad.
The sources said that a joint team of police and Rangers arrested Haroon and Haris from F-6 sector of Islamabad on Tuesday night.
They said that explosive material and uniform of security agencies were recovered from their possession and a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against them at the Kohsar police station.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of the Lal Masjid spokesman said that the FIR is an attempt to bar Haroon and Haris in their attempts to pursue a case against former President Pervez Musharraf who was charged for the murder of the Lal Masjid cleric.
The spokesman denied that any uniform was recovered from the car and said that only a weapon was present in the vehicle. He added that the recovered weapon was licensed.
The two arrested persons are sons of former Lal Masjid cleric Ghazi Abdul Rasheed who was killed in an operation in 2007.
