LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Health department has put all government hospitals on high alert to cope with any emergency situation on the occasion of local bodies elections in the province.

A directive has been issued from the office of the Secretary Health Punjab to the principals of all autonomous medical institutions, medical superintendents of teaching hospitals, DHQ and THQ hospitals as well as EDOs Health of all the districts in which they have been directed to ensure presence of senior administrative doctors, physicians and surgeons.

They have also been directed that medicines, blood bags and ambulances should also be available in the hospitals for providing quality and prompt healthcare to the patients.

These hospitals will remain on high alert on October31, November 19 and December 5, 2015, the days of local bodies elections in phase I, II and III respectively.

The officers have been asked strict compliance of the instructions issued to their institutions.
