ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar has sworn in as the 8th Interim Prime Minister of Pakistan on Monday.

President Dr. Arif Alvi administered oath to him at a Ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.

The Oath-Taking Ceremony was attended by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Nadeem Raza and former Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Likewise, the former Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, the Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, the Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, the Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Shahzad Waseem and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Faisal Karim Kundi were among other prominent figures attending the Ceremony.

Earlier Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar resigned from the Senate as well as from his position within the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).

On August 12, President Dr. Arif Alvi approved Kakar’s appointment as the Country’s caretaker prime minister after Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Raja Riaz agreed on his nomination.
