SYDNEY: An official of the Australia Maritime Security Agency said on Thursday that the Australian Air Force Orion aircraft have reached near the possible debris of the crashed Malaysian plane in the Indian Ocean.
A Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew vanished from radars while it was on its way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing last week.
At a news conference in Sydney on Thursday, the official that some images have been taken through commercial satellite and that the services of satellites can be obtained for having better pictures of the debris.
Earlier, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott told the parliament in Canberra that objects possibly related to the missing Malaysia plane have been spotted on satellite imagery.
The prime minister said that an Australian Air Force plane has been sent into the area to locate the objects.
