ISLAMABAD: Unknown armed motorcyclists shot dead Ahle Sunaat Wal Jamaat (AWSJ) leader along with another person in sector I-8 area of Islamabad on Friday, police said.
Mufti Muneer Muawiya was the AWSJ General Secretary in Islamabad while other person identified as Asad Mehmood was the office bearer of the party.
Police said that the incident occurred in sector I-8 of Islamabad when unknown armed motorcyclists opened fire on a car carrying the AWSJ Islamabad General Secretary and the party’s office bearer after they left congregational prayers on Friday afternoon.
Following the killing of the ASWJ leader, the party activists staged protest demonstration by placing the dead bodies on road, demanding arrest of the culprits.
