LAHORE, Pakistan: The Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Saturday praised positive role of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the National Assembly and said PPP didn’t talk about derailing democracy.
Talking to media representatives in Lahore after visiting Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at Ittefaq hospital, the speaker national assembly said that as per law a member was de-seated for absence from the House for over 40 days and we did not want to use that law against elected representatives.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq further said that the federal government would hold consultations to improve NAB Ordinance.
Earlier, he inquired after the health of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, presented him bouquet on behalf of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and conveyed the best wishes of the Prime Minister.
Separately, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer JI also telephoned the JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, inquired about his health and prayed for early recovery.
