QUETTA, Pakistan: Unknown assailants have kidnapped six officials of the Balochistan Development Authority (BDA) near the Pakistan-Afghanistan and border and taken them into an unknown location, the Levies sources said.
The sources said that the incident happened on Sunday night when the officials including General Manager BDA Bacha Khan, two engineers, contractor, driver and a clerk were kidnapped while they were going to Afghan border area of Murgha Faqirzai from Quetta.
The Levies sources said that the Balochistan development authority officials were going to inspect dams in the border area.
They said that the Frontier Corps (FC), Levies and police personnel have cordoned off the areas adjacent to the Pak-Afghan border, adding that a kidnapping case has been registered against unknown person by the Levies.
26 militants of banned outfit surrendered in Nushki
Meanwhile 26 militants including central members of various banned organizations have surrendered before the FC during a ceremony in Nushki district of Balochistan on Monday.
The security sources told that the surrendered militants took oath to remain loyal to the country and work for development of the province.
The ceremony was attended by FC, civil officials and tribal elders.
