QUETTA: The Balochistan government presented its budget for the next fiscal year with a total outlay of over Rs215 billion on Thursday.

The advisor to Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, Mir Khalid Langove, presented the budget in the provincial assembly in Quetta.

In his budget speech, Langove said that Rs50.742 billion of funds have been earmarked for public sector development programme while over Rs164 billion have been earmarked for non-development expenditures.

Langove said that total income during the fiscal year have been estimated over Rs200 billion which will be accommodated from devisable pool.

Over Rs8 billion will be met from provincial income resources while Rs15.662 billion deficit has been shown in the budget, he said.

The advisor to Balochistan chief minister said that special priority has been given to education, health, communication, energy, improving law and order and provision of drinking water to the people.

The advisor announced 10 percent increase in salaries of government employees and pensioners. He said that Rs17.251 million have been allocated for maintenance of law and order in the province.
