QUETTA, Pakistan: The Balochistan Assembly on Saturday unanimously approved a resolution condemning the remakrs of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain about the Pakistan army.
The resolution was moved by the provincial Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, demanding that the MQM should be banned and strict action be taken against its chief.
It further said that the Pakistan army is rendering great sacrifices for defending the country’s frontiers and purging the motherland of the menace of terrorism.
The resolution said that the criticism of the armed forces is tantamount to demoralizing them.
On April 30, the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain strongly criticized Pakistan’s armed forces and sought help from the Indian intelligent agency – Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
Later, the Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa condemned the statements made by Altaf Hussain regarding the Pakistan army, and said that the matter would be legally pursued.
The DG ISPR also termed the MQM chief’s remarks regarding the army and its leadership as “uncalled for and disgusting”.
