ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Assembly has been informed that a Bill to establish the Islamabad Food Authority on the precedent of the Punjab Food Authority is under process in the Ministry of Interior and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) for stakeholder consultation.
Apprising the House in a written reply, the Minister for State for Interior Shehryar Afridi told that after completing the consultations, the Bill will be sent to the Cabinet Committee for Legislative Cases (CCLC) through the Ministry of Law & Justice for the approval.
In reply to another question, the minister told that at present 162 Passport Offices including Regional Passport Offices & Executive Passport Offices and 559 NADRA Registration Centres are operational across the Country.
In addition, Shehryar Afridi also told the House that there are proper arrangements for cleanliness of Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad which have been outsources. He said that the Mosque is white washed on regular basis as per availability of funds.
The minister said that cleanliness of the Mosque has been out sourced since its operation and 37 persons including two supervisors, 31 Farash/Cleaner and four sweepers have been engaged by the Contractor on minimum wages fixed by the government. He said that Faisal Mosque was painted in 2013 at a cost of Rs 3,823 million.
