ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), the federal government is conducting door-to-door survey to register households for developing a National Socio-Economic Registry to help the poor.

The survey has so far been completed in four districts including Haripur, Sukkur, Bahawalpur and Naseerabad with 700,000 households registered.

To cover all areas of the Country, the survey is currently going on in Mirpur, Gilgit, Mohmand Agency and the districts of Thatta, Sajawal, Qilla Saifullah, Lakki Marwat, Charsadda, Chakwal, Faisalabad and Layyah.

The survey process will begin in all remaining districts across the Country in August this year.

The survey will help maintain a credible database of variations in economic conditions of people, enabling them to benefit from the government`s welfare schemes.
