PESHAWAR, Pakistan: A bomb went off in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday, injuring four policemen including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
The sources said that the blast took place in Dara Mastang area of Dera Ismail Khan when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted along a roadside hit a police mobile van while it was on routine patrol.
Subsequently, four policemen including the DSP Kulachi Zahoor Khan sustained injuries and were shifted to the District Hospital Dera Ismail Khan.
Meanwhile, the security forces reached the blast site and cordoned off the area. An investigation into the incident was also launched.
Separately, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police has arrested over 300 suspects in different areas of the province.
The police sources said that those arrested also include 22 Afghan nationals for illegally staying in the province. They said that a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the suspects.
