India's objection over CPEC project is illogical: Pakistani minister

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for States and Frontier Region Abdul Qadir Baloch has said that India’s objection over the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project is illogical.

In his remarks while talking to a news channel, the minister said that India actually did not like Pakistan-China bilateral trade and close relations.

The minister said that the $46 billion project between Pakistan and China will open new doors of progress and prosperity in the country.

Moreover, he also said that the success of the military operation Zarb-e-Azb against militants, economic development and progress of Pakistan are not being tolerated by India.

The Indian government has recently raised its concerns over the China-Pakistan economic corridor, saying it is unacceptable as it will also go through the Pakistani administered Kashmir region.

Last Sunday, the Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj told newsmen in New Delhi that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent three-day official visit to China also raised “very strongly” the issue of the CPEC and told the Chinese leadership that that it is “unacceptable”.

However, both Pakistan and China brushed aside India’s concerns over the CPEC while Islamabad said that the two all-weather friends are committed to the implementation of the CPEC project. It said that the project will not only benefit Pakistan but the entire region.
