PESHAWAR: At least five people were killed while 27 others were injured in a loud explosion that took place at a crowded market in the northwestern city of Peshawar on Saturday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
The sources said that the blast occurred inside Bilawal Mosque near Shaheen Bazaar of Peshawar just moments before the mid-day prayers. Those injured in the blast are being shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.
Security forces have reached the scene and cordoned off the area.
According to the bomb disposal squad (BDS), initial investigations suggested that explosive material weighing between three to four kilogrammes was detonated through a remote controlled device.
