KABUL, Afghanistan: A bomb ripped through a crowded market in southeastern Afghanistan on Monday, killing at least four persons and injuring 23 others including women and children.
The incident occurred in Gardez city of Afghan Paktia province where an improvised explosive device (IED) planted near the shops exploded.
The Provincial Police Chief General Zalmai Orya Khel expressed fear that the death toll could rise as a number of injured persons are in critical condition.
No group including the Taliban immediately claimed responsibility for the blast.
