PESHAWAR: At least six people were killed and several others were injured in a blast that ripped through a rally of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) in Lower Dir’s Baba Gam village on Tuesday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
The blast caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near the vehicle of Zahir Khan the brother of Muhammad Zamin Khan, who is a PPP candidate from PK-96 constituency of Lower Dir – III.
Zahir Khan succumbed to his wounds suffered in the attack.
Emergency and rescue teams reached the site of attack and began efforts to shift the victims to medical facilities for treatment, while security forces cordoned off the area as investigations began over the incident.
