ISLAMABAD: The four-day Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2014 has begun in China’s Hainan province with its theme “Asia’s New Future: Identifying New Growth Drivers”.
The forum features discussions on the global financial situation, financial cooperation among Asian nations, infrastructure connectivity, Asian free trade and multilateral trade systems among others.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is representing Pakistan at the forum, will deliver a speech at the opening plenary of the forum on Thursday.
The prime minister will also hold a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang. The two leaders will review progress in bilateral ties with particular focus on economic cooperation, Pak-China Economic Corridor and infrastructure development projects.
Sharif will also make a keynote speech at a seminar on “Reviving the Silk Road”. It would be attended by the leaders of China, Iran and Kazakhstan.
