LAHORE, Pakistan: The Islamabad-based Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS) and Lahore’s University of the Punjab signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Lahore on Wednesday, under which both the institutions agreed to facilitate cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
The Vice Chancellor University of the Punjab Professor Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar and the Vice President CGSS Major General (retd) Hafiz Masroor Ahmed signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
The senior leadership of CGSS including the former Punjab Governor and the Member Advisory Board CGSS Lieutenant General (retd) Khalid Maqbool, the Member Advisory Board CGSS Brigadier (retd) Mansoor Saeed, the Editor-in-Chief National Herald Tribune and Member Advisory Board CGSS Ghulam Akbar, the Executive Director CGSS Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Khalid Taimur Akram, the Director CGSS Ms. Mehreen Gul, the Digital Media Executive CGSS Ms. Laraib Hassan, and the PR & Communication Executive CGSS Ms. Palwasha Nawaz was also present during the occasion.
Besides a total of 150 students, faculty members and Deans of University of the Punjab also attended the event.
It was decided that the CGSS and the Punjab University will work together to promote joint research projects on agreed fields for developing a sound cooperation in the future.
Furthermore, both the institutions will work and explore opportunities to involve the academia in the multilateral fields.
