ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The European Union (EU) Ambassador to Pakistan Androulla Kaminara met the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Wednesday, and appreciated Pakistan’s strong commitment regarding action plan of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
In the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in which matters pertaining to trade and political cooperation between Pakistan and the European Union were discussed, the EU ambassador also assured to provide technical facilities to Pakistan in the implementation of the FATF action plan.
The foreign minister highlighted grave human rights violations by the Indian army in occupied Kashmir. He also apprised the EU ambassador about the Indian government’s discriminatory Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
WHO has enhanced its cooperation with Pakistan: Representative
Separately, the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Pakistan Dr Palitha Gunarathna Mahipala also met the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad.
The WHO representative said that his organization has enhanced its cooperation with Pakistan for the eradication of polio from the Country.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi told him that eradication of polio from the country is amongst the top priorities of the government.
The minister told that the Pakistani government is taking all necessary steps to check the spread of Coronavirus. He said that thermal scanners have been installed at airports.
The foreign minister expressed hope that the WHO will continue its cooperation with Pakistan for improvement in the health sector.
