PESHAWAR: An explosion occurred in Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday, killing a child and injuring four others, police said.
Police said that children were playing with a toy in Khaki, a suburb of Nowshera, but meanwhile an explosive apparently hidden inside the toy went off. Subsequently, a child was killed and four others sustained injuries.
“Up to six children were playing with a toy that they had found from the garbage they collected from nearby areas when it exploded, killing the boy and wounding four other children,” senior local police official Khurram Rasheed told a foreign news agency.
